Forge Migration Plan

Atlassian Forge is Atlassian’s modern cloud platform for building and running apps for Jira. Forge allows more app functionality to run within Atlassian-managed infrastructure, with stronger alignment to Atlassian’s security, privacy, reliability, and data residency direction. Risk Register is adopting Forge so that we remain aligned with Atlassian’s long-term cloud platform strategy, continue to meet evolving Marketplace requirements, and provide customers with a secure, supportable, and future-ready app experience.

Here is our migration timeline:

June 2026

• Risk Register Table and Matrix

July 2026

• App installation and lifecycle handling (install, upgrade, enable, and disable)

• Server-to-Cloud migration support

• Automatic synchronisation of risk data as issues change, including when an issue moves between projects, plus background monitoring to safeguard data integrity

• Indexing of risk assessment data for search, reporting, and filtering

August 2026

• Read-only risk fields shown on issues: Inherent impact, Inherent probability, Residual impact, Residual probability, Inherent risk, and Residual risk

• Editable risk fields: Treatment, Realization, and Risk assessment version

• Assess Risk dialog used to create and update an issue's risk assessment

• Risk Assessment panel shown on the Jira issue view
